Tanya Mickler, PhD

Assistance is available at those moments when you or a loved one loses your sense of direction, feels overwhelmed, is faced with challenging concerns or transitions, or simply wants to move forward to be your personal best. My treatment work focuses on aiding people in finding their way to peacefulness, living purposefully, and being close to others. I serve to help clarify confusion, understand yourself and your world, and clear obstacles so you can reach your desired goals.

I work with adults and couples. My treatment approach is eclectic, tailored to the presenting concern. I utilize aspects of interpersonal, process, internal family systems, mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral, and family-of-origin approaches, and offer Somatic Experiencing.

Areas of expertise:

  • Depression and related disorders
  • Anxiety and fears
  • Eating disorders / body image difficulties
  • Grief
  • Relationships
  • Divorce
  • Stress management
  • Personal growth and development counseling
  • Counseling to maximize your achievements and life satisfaction

I received my Bachelor’s degree from Vassar College, my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Florida and worked in a variety of settings across a wide range of ages and concerns. I have been in practice for 20 years and I really enjoy my work.

I am an in-network provider for Medicare and Tricare, and an out-of-network provider for Blue Cross Blue Shield.  If you have other insurance for which you may have out-of-network benefits, my office staff are happy to fie insurance claims on your behalf, aiding you in receiving reimbursement
